Business Handyman, LLC is the professional platform of Joe Austin. The firm works with a team of experienced staff and consultants — including software developers, graphic designers, and business process specialists to address complex business, technology, and organizational challenges.
The interests of Business Handyman span strategic investments, business ventures, technology initiatives, and planning projects. With decades of executive leadership experience, Joe is recognized as an expert in C and Linux development and is actively engaged with emerging technologies. His background includes deep familiarity with business administration practices and GAAP accounting.
At the Jonny Bass Foundation, our team has developed and implemented a comprehensive set of AI-enabled operating procedures that are actively used across the organization. These procedures support efforts ranging from software product development to structured collaboration with department heads on strategy and execution. The approach goes beyond ad-hoc use of AI, instead integrating it as a participant of sorts in the workflow — at times acting as an advisor, peer reviewer, and at times a secondary, but not the primary, author.
Joe lives in Mission Beach, where his primary modes of transportation include a street-legal golf cart, an e-bike, Uber, trains, and air travel. He also owns a 1962 Willys Army Jeep, which he keeps at a friend’s home in Clairemont for leisurely Sunday drives. He is often found at the Mission Bay Yacht Club, where he keeps both a tugboat and a sailboat and, from time to time, discusses projects on the club’s bay deck or aboard the boats. Joe serves as President of the Jonny Bass Foundation (https://jonnybass.org) a 501(c)(3) public charity that provides supplies and digital services to K–12 art and science classrooms.
